Small Group Boot Camp Classes

J&N Personal Training and Austin Underground Fitness are pleased to offer small group bootcamp classes. Our bootcamp classes are interval based, circuit classes and incorporate strength training, conditioning, flexibility, cardiovascular, and athletic performance techniques. We use a variety of training tools in our bootcamp classes, including kettlebells, heavy bags, dumbells, jump ropes, sandbags, medicine balls, free weights, and much more.

We primarily hold our small group bootcamp classes at Canyon Vista Middle School in Northwest Austin. If you are interested in getting into shape or taking your athletic performance to a higher level, we invite you to participate in our community group fitness programs. This is a fun way to make new friends and work toward a healthier, happier you!

Each bootcamp class is 45-60 minutes in duration. Please bring a water bottle and towel to each class. You may also want to bring a pair of weight training gloves or chalk.

Bootcamp classes are being formed on an on-demand basis. We will not offer bootcamp package package discounts/punch cards until we have our class schedule defined. Until then, all classes will be offered at $15/class.

Reminder - About J&N Personal Training and ATX Underground Fitness

Jay & Nia are the dynamic pair of trainers who make up Austin-based J&N Personal Training and Austin Underground Fitness. We are both seasoned athletes and coaches and have over 30 years of combined fitness experience and instruction. Jay has been a competitive athlete for over 21 years. He has played both collegiate and professional football and holds two national championship titles. He has also coached a number of youth football and baseball teams, as well as trained athletes for the All-American Football World League and the Austin Wranglers. He has also appeared in the NBC sitcom Friday Night Lights. Jay is an expert in power lifting and conditioning. Nia has been a fitness instructor and personal trainer for over 10 years. She has taught at the University of Maryland, World Gym, Gold's Gym, and the Riata Apartment Complex. She is a certified personal trainer, certified group exercise instructor, and certified Spinning (group cycling) instructor. Nia has enjoyed transforming herself and improving her athleticism competitively since 2003. She is a former National Physique Committee (NPC) Figure competitor and current NPC amateur bodybuilding competitor. She is an avid kettlebell enthusiast, underground fanatic, and enjoys boxing, weight lifting, cycling, and martial arts in her spare time. She is an expert in strength & conditioning and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). In December 2008, she launched Austin Underground Fitness. Nia loves to incorporate unconventional training methods, including kettlebells, sandbags, and body weight exercises, into her programs. Nia constantly researches new, innovative ways to produce optimal training results for herself and for her clients. Jay & Nia are both CPR certified. J&N Personal Training and Austin Underground Training are now partner affiliates.

We would like to utilize our skills, experience, and expertise to contribute in making Austin one of the fittest cities in the nation. We enjoy working outdoors as much as possible, but please note that we have turned our garage into a small training studio to allow for training during colder months and inclimate weather. Please rest assured that we are experts in bringing out the inner athlete in every person, and we promote all aspects of fitness and wellness. We look forward to working with you!

Personal Training Services

J&N Personal Training is currently accepting clients for personal training. Please contact us for an appointment and free consultation. All personal training sessions are tailored to your specific needs and interests. We offer numerous types of services and specialty programs including traditional weight lifting, personalized kettlebell instruction, and individual indoor cycling classes. We can come to your home, office, public park or track, or you can workout at our in-home training studio in Northwest Austin.

We maintain a small personal training client base and encourage only those who are dedicated and willing to put in the time and effort to achieve their goals to apply. We love working with people who have the heart, desire, and willingness to work hard. Remember: results only come with hard work!

Personal training is available by appointment only and will be scheduled separately from group bootcamp classes. All personal training services are customized to meet your specific needs and interests.

  • We offer individual one-on-one sessions for $50 per session (1 hour).
  • Bulk personal training (one-on-one) packages are available at a discounted rate. Packages are sold in groups of 8 sessions ($360) and must be paid in full.
  • Partner/Couples personal training (groups of 2) is also available for $80 per session, with the session price being split per person.
  • For the kettlebell beginner/novice, we focus on learning 7 foundational movements in 2 hours ($115). We also offer intermediate level classes focusing on more complex movements, including some double kettlebell work. Kettlebell training sessions are 1 hour in length ($50), with the exception of the 2-hour beginner session.
  • We also offer customized on-line training programs ranging between $50-75. Please contact us for a price quote; prices vary depending upon program needs.
  • We always offer a discount to all first responders, military, police officers, and firefighters. We appreciate all that you do to keep us safe and to protect our country.
